The U14 girls traveled to The Far Post in Oaks, PA on Saturday February 7th to participate in the Leagues United Indoor State Cup. The girls jumped out in the first game of the day beating Montgomery 7-1. They followed that up with a 4-0 victory over Logan Soccer. Finally, they won their last pool game 4-1 over Vincent United to advance to the semi-final against a highly ranked Methacton team. The girls won the semi-final in a tough physical battle 3-2. In the championship game the girls faced another highly ranked team in the Southampton Sting. This was another physical struggle that saw the girls take a 3-2 lead with under 3 minutes to play only to give up a goal with just over a minute to play forcing overtime. In overtime, Southampton scored on a throw-in to claim the Indoor Cup title.
A great showing by the girls against quality competition. Keep up the good work girls!
